Biography
Paula
Sara Paula Hoffman is a visual artist. For seventeen years she was Professor of Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design; her work explores narrative, memory, and psychological interiority through oil and mixed media painting.
For over two decades, she has engaged with the dramatic structures and emotional complexity of Henrik Ibsen’s plays, exhibiting nationally and internationally — including solo presentations with the International Ibsen Conferences in Oslo, Shanghai, Tromsø, and, in 2026, Zürich.
Her intimate, layered compositions draw on personal archives and cultural references to examine the tension between visibility and concealment. She maintains an active studio practice in Savannah, Georgia.
